FAQ
Honest answers, no surprises
Everything clients ask most, from what it feels like to what happens between sessions.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most clients describe it as a quick warm snap rather than sharp pain. The Candela GentleMax Pro's cooling system helps keep treatments comfortable.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients need a series of sessions, since laser targets hair in its active growth phase and hair grows in cycles. Your nurse will map out a realistic plan at your consultation.
How should I prepare for a session?
Shave the area beforehand and avoid sun exposure, self-tanner and waxing or plucking in the days leading up to your appointment. Your nurse will walk you through full prep instructions when you book.
Can I still shave between sessions?
Yes. Shaving is fine between sessions. Waxing, plucking and threading are not, since laser needs the hair root intact to work.
Is laser hair removal safe for my skin tone?
The Candela GentleMax Pro's dual wavelengths are built to work across a wide range of skin tones. Your nurse will confirm the right settings for you at your consultation.
Will this help with PCOS-related hair growth?
Laser can meaningfully reduce hormonal hair growth, but it doesn't cure PCOS. Ongoing maintenance sessions are typically part of the plan.
How much sun exposure is okay during treatment?
Sun exposure and self-tanner should be avoided on treatment areas before and after each session. Your nurse will give you a specific timeline based on your plan.
Do I need maintenance sessions after my initial plan?
Most clients return for occasional touch-up sessions, especially for hormonally driven areas. This is normal and part of realistic, long-term results.
