Luna Laser Hair Removal

What to Expect

Your journey to smoother skin

Personalized care, thoughtful treatments, real results. Here is what your experience looks like, from booking through aftercare, so nothing takes you by surprise.

Before and during

How your first visit works

Every first visit follows the same three steps, in this order:

1

Medical Clearance

We confirm laser is safe for you before anything begins.

2

Consultation + Patch Test

Meet your nurse, review your goals, and test a small area.

3

Begin Treatment

Start your personalized plan when you're ready.

1

Book your appointment

Choose the service that best fits your needs and select an available time online. First time at Luna? Select a First-Time Consultation or Laser Hair Removal appointment.

2

Complete your intake forms

Before your appointment, you'll receive digital forms about your health, skin, lifestyle, and treatment areas. This helps us prepare for your care.

3

Medical provider video call

A medical provider will video call you at your convenience to review your health history, confirm you're cleared for laser hair removal, and answer any health-related questions.

4

In-person evaluation and treatment

Meet your Luna Laser nurse for your in-person skin and hair assessment. We evaluate your skin tone, hair type, treatment area, and recent sun exposure, then begin your treatment when appropriate.

5

Aftercare and your next visit

You may notice mild redness, warmth, or tiny bumps around the follicles, which is normal and temporary. You'll get personalized aftercare, and we'll recommend your ideal follow-up timeline. Laser works best in a series.

Before you arrive

A few simple reminders

  • Shave the area before your appointment
  • No waxing, tweezing, or threading
  • Arrive with clean skin, no lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup on treatment areas
  • Let us know about any new medications, antibiotics, or skin changes
  • Avoid tanning and self-tanner

After your session

What healing looks like

Everyone heals a little differently, but here is a general timeline of what your skin may go through after laser hair removal.

Right after

Redness and mild swelling around the follicles, similar to a mild sunburn.

1 to 24 hours

Redness may continue. You may feel warm or tender in the treated area.

2 to 3 days

Follicles may feel rough or look slightly raised. This is part of the shedding process.

5 to 14 days

Treated hairs shed naturally. Continue to avoid sun and follow your aftercare.

2 to 3 weeks

You'll start to see smoother skin. New growth, if any, should be finer and lighter.

A little itchiness is normal as your skin heals. Avoid scratching, and gently rub or pat the area with clean hands only if you feel itchy.

Aftercare

Do and don't

Do

  • Keep the area clean and gently moisturized with a fragrance-free cleanser and moisturizer 2 to 3 times daily.
  • Protect your skin from the sun with SPF 30 or higher on treated areas every day.
  • Stay hydrated to support your skin's healing process.
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing and avoid tight waistbands, leggings, or friction.

Don't

  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks.
  • Avoid hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Avoid intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Avoid exfoliating, scrubs, or harsh skincare for 3 to 5 days.
  • Do not wax, pluck, or use hair removal creams. Only shave between sessions.
